Age of Stupid

The Age of Stupid is a 90-minute film about climate change, set in the future, which will have its world premiere in London on March 15th 2009 and then be released in UK cinemas on March 20th 2009, followed by other countries.

Oscar-nominated Pete Postlethwaite stars as a man living alone in the devasted world of 2055, looking back at “archive” footage from 2007 and asking: why didn’t we stop climate change when we had the chance?

The hope is that this movie will reach the parts that other Climate Change communiques haven’t. A campaign called Not Stupid will be launched with the film that aims to turn 250 million viewers into climate activists.

The People’s Premiere on 15th March is breaking records for the number of screenings, potentially the number of attendees and very likely the least number of Kentucky Fried Chickens buckets ever at a screening anywhere.

Rob Hopkins is hosting the screening at the Eden Project. 2009 is a critical year – later in December is the Copenhagen Climate meeting – awareness needs to reach Richter scale levels in the run up to it, and it is hoped that this movie will help in a big way.
